Jerky Snob

Good Afternoon! I’m so eager to be sharing my review for Jerky Snob with you! Jerky Snob is a monthly subscription service that sends out either 2, 4 or 8 bags of jerky (depending on your subscription choice) ranging from $15-$54/box. Keep in mind, this isn’t just ordinary jerky. It’s fun, flavorful, unique and probably not something you’d find in your local grocery stores. The jerky is also made by independent, small batch producers. Yay for supporting small businesses!

Pure Provisions Turkey Jerky (Orange Ginger) This Pure Provisions Turkey Jerky was definitely one of my favorites from this month! I throughly enjoyed its soft texture and mild flavor. The orange ginger is very, very subtle, but that’s what helps to bring out the flavor of the turkey. I can honestly eat this jerky like potato chips! The sodium content isn’t too bad either - only 210 mg for one ounce. If you’re looking for a healthier and lighter option, then I would highly recommend this one!

Homegrown Meats Western Mesquite BBQ (100% Grassfed Beef Jerky) I was a little hesitant about this jerky. I’ve tried grassfed jerky in the past and haven’t liked it because the taste is definitely different from standard beef. To my surprise though, I actually enjoyed this one! The texture is definitely firmer and dryer than your standard jerky. When you first take a bite, you really get a strong taste of BBQ, and the more you chew, the more you start to taste the beef. I love BBQ anything, so this jerky from Homegrown Meats was definitely a nice treat.

People’s Choice Sriracha Beef Jerky I was super excited to try this Sriracha Jerky from People’s Choice! It’s nice to be able to have a snack that’s a bit out of the ordinary. Of all the jerky’s, this one was definitely the most firm. You really have to bite down and rip to take a bite, but that makes it more fun! The nice thing about the flavor is you can certainly taste the sriracha, but it’s more mild, so your mouth and throat aren’t on fire while you’re eating it. It allows you to better enjoy the jerky without feeling discomfort. Yum!

Pearson Ranch Elk Jalapeño & Wild Boar Smoked Snack Sticks I had never eaten Elk before...or Wild Boar. I honestly never thought I’d say that I had either! I was extremely surprised at how tasty and delicious these snack sticks were! They were definitely my favorites from this month. The Elk Jalapeño has a chewy texture...similar to a slim jim (without the grease), but softer. You get a taste of the meat right before the heat from the jalapeño kicks in. The flavors just blend together extremely well, making this such a yummy and satisfying snack! The Wild Boar is also very similar in texture. It’s chewy, but soft. Although, I would say it’s a bit chewer than the Elk. The taste is very mild, but rich in flavor. If you’re someone who doesn’t like heat in their snack stick, then I would recommend this option versus the Elk. I have to say that both of these snack sticks were extremely delicious! They’re unique and flavorful in their own ways (if you’re a picky eater, I think you might enjoy the snack sticks over the jerky). Overall, I was very pleased and impressed with not only the flavor, but the amazing quality of these jerky’s! If you’re a jerky lover like me, then Jerky Snob is a dream subscription because you’re able to try out different & unique jerky each month. I can only imagine all of the flavorful jerky you’ll get to try out with each package. I highly recommend subscribing (especially if you have a family-these would make great snacks for road trips and when you’re on-the-go and need a little protein)! Until Next Time, xo
