Good Morning to you darlings! Today I have a fun and exciting subscription box review for you of Aloha Snack Pack! Aloha Snack Pack is a monthly subscription box that sends you goodies from Hawaii! Their boxes are influenced by Japan, the Philippines, China and Portugal!
January's box was filled with treats from Japan.
Premium Mix Mochi Balls
I was pleasantly surprised with Mochi Balls. They're described on the packaging as "Japanese Style Peanut Crackers". They tend to be round in shape and come in so many different colors such as tan, orange, red, green, black, etc. Some are plain and some have little seeds surrounding the mochi balls. They pretty much tasted the same to me even though the colors and textures vary. I tasted a subtle peanut flavor, which was enjoyable.
Soft Cuttlefish (Hot)
Nope. Nope. Nope. I couldn't touch this one but a few of my family members thought it was enjoyable. It's ultimately strings of squid, as the ingredients include squid, sugar, salt, pepper, monosodium glutamate, sorbic acid (a preservative), and chili powder. Refrigerate after opening!
Mini Melts
Mini Melts are toffee coated Macadamia Nuts covered in milk chocolate. Yum!! This was definitely one of my favorites from January's box because I love Macadamia Nuts...and chocolate. They're covered in powdered sugar on the outside which adds an extra bit of sweetness. Upon biting into these treats, you can immediately taste the Macadamia Nut over anything else - which I love! The Macadamia Nut is the strongest flavor, followed by the subtle taste of chocolate and toffee.
Lightly Salted Tempura Seaweed Snacks
Again, I really couldn't eat this snack either. I did taste it, but found it to be a bit too fishy for my liking. Other family members did enjoy it, but it really all depends on your own personal tastes.
Premium Mix Arare
These were super yummy! They are brown in color and come in different shapes such as rectangles, squares and flowers. They are made of rice and have a similar taste to American corn snacks like corn nuts. Yum, yum, yum!
Choco Mochi
These are essentially Mochi Balls that are covered in a chocolate coating. I found them to be enjoyable, as the slight peanut flavor goes well with the taste of the chocolate. They have a nice crunch and satisfy my sweet tooth!
Japanese Candies
I really do not know how to describe these, except to call them Japanese Candies. They are in a red foil wrapper with yellow Japanese writing that I simply cannot read or decipher. These were my absolute favorite from the box! They're a hard candy that are pink in color and taste like strawberries and creme. They last quite awhile and taste delicious!
Overall, I was pleased with January's box. I didn't try the cuttlefish or enjoy the seaweed snacks too much because I simply do not eat much fish. I did enjoy everything else and I highly recommend giving Aloha Snack Pack a try if you are interested in tasting different foods from unique cultures!
Thank you for reading darlings! Have a peachy day!
